Kluivert signs for PSG as director of football.

Former Netherlands international Patrick Kluivert has been appointed director of football at Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 champions have announced.

The arrival of the 40-year-old follows the appointment of Unai Emery as head coach, replacing Laurent Blanc last month.

PSG say Kluivert will "play an active role in the national and international development of the club" and "defining the club's long-term sporting strategy".
Kluivert said in a statement: "I am extremely honoured to join such a great club as Paris Saint-Germain and to take on the role of director of football.

"I will conduct my mission with great ambition and rigour. We are all in Paris to reach the very high objectives set by the club and meet the expectations of the players and supporters alike."
In his playing career, Kluivert had spells with Ajax and Barcelona and scored 40 goals in 79 appearances for his country.

Kluivert was appointed coach of the Ajax U19 squad in May this year but opted to leave the role once the extent of PSG's interest became clear.

Jaap stam to become new Reading boss.

Jaap Stam is set to be confirmed as the new manager of Reading at a news conference on Monday afternoon.

Stam will embark on his first senior managerial position with the Championship side after he reportedly agreed a two-year deal on Friday.

The former Manchester United and Netherlands defender, who has just received his UEFA Pro Licence, is a free agent after leaving Ajax where he was in charge of their U21 and academy teams.
Stam is expected to bring his former Ajax assistants, Andries Uldrink and Said Bakkati, with him to the Madjeski.

The 43-year-old succeeds Brian McDermott, who was sacked after five months in charge of the Royals during his second stint with the club.
Reading finished the season in 17th place and well clear of the relegation places, with the team winning nine of their 30 league and FA Cup matches under McDermott.

However, McDermott, who replaced Steve Clark, was relieved after his duties after Reading finished the season without a win in seven games.
McDermott joined Reading's coaching staff in September 2000 and was appointed manager just over nine years later.

Under his stewardship the Royals were promoted to the Premier League in 2012, but after a run of four successive defeats, the following March McDermott was dismissed.
