Arsenal has signed 20 year old Holding.

Arsenal have sealed the signing of Bolton’s England under-21 defender Rob Holding for an undisclosed fee.

The 20 year old centre-back has agreed a long term contract with the Gunners.

Holding made 30 appearances in relegated Bolton’s campaign last and went on to pick up the club’s Player of the Year award.

The fee is undisclosed but believed to be around the £2million mark.

The defender starred alongside Arsenal team-mate Calum Chambers in the Toulon tournament in France which the England under 21’s won.

Holding, who can also play at right-back, says he is delighted to be joining the Gunners.

“It’s something you dream of as a kid – I can’t wait to get started.”

He is Arsenal’s third signing of the summer so far after Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka and Japanese forward Takuma Asano.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has today told fans they are operating in a “fiercely competitive” market amid unrest from fans who believe transfer activity has been to low key.
